Vases – Venini – Odalische (by Leonardo Ranucci)

The Odalische vase, designed by Leonardo Ranucci in 2009, is made of hand-blown opal glass. Odalische is a collection of vases that counts three different models per dimension. The technique of the Opalini starts from the processing of the lattimo, an opaque white glass, invented in Murano around the middle of the fifteenth century in order to imitate the first porcelain of great fashion in Europe. It is obtained by overlapping “lattiamando” glass with a glass or more thin transparent and colored glass, obtaining beautiful objects with intense and bright colors.
